What are your common server names?

It is recommended that you connect to these machines via their host names and not IP addresses as these can change without warning.

Do I need to buy an SMTP Outbound account with an Advanced Email account?

No. When you sign up for an Advanced Email package you will also receive outbound email access.

Should my ISP provide outbound email?

Most ISPs do offer an outbound email service when you sign up to an internet connection. However, there are some ISPs, like BT Broadband, who do not provide this service. Gradwell provide the ideal solution for customers in this situation.

Is there a limit on the amount of emails I can send from my SMTP account?

Yes. Your limit will be either 100 or 500 a day, depending on the SMTP package you sign up for.

How many different logins am I allowed on my SMTP account?

This will vary depending on your package. Users with an SMTP Email Outbound 100 package can have 1 login, whereas those with an SMTP Email Outbound 500 account can have up to 50 different logins.

What is the difference between Email Forwarding and an Email Hosting account?

The primary difference between this account and a full email account is mail storage.

With Email Forwarding we forward your mail to an existing email account at your place of work or Internet provider, whereas Email Hosting accounts have up to 5Gb of mail storage.

You can forward your email to any address, at any domain, anywhere in the world.

What is standard spam filtering?

Gradwell's standard spam filtering performs a check against a global list of known email spammers, and blocks flagged emails from reaching your inbox.

This service is included in Email Hosting packages. If you wish to have custom spam rules and virus scanning, you will need our "Advanced Spam and Virus Filtering" addon.
